British Gospel Arts can provide workshops in gospel singing, song-writing, performance and musicianship as part of your school celebration, in preparation for performances, as part of a themed day or week or just for the fun of it.
We are the educational arm of the world-renowned London Community Gospel Choir and have been running Gospel music programmes in schools, colleges, universities and community organisations all over the UK and Europe for ten years. Our experienced team of Gospel music specialists work with children and adults of all ages and abilities.

MUSIC WORKSHOP
Get ready for the summer sun with some feel good music with the choice of Gospel Reggae or Gospel Calypso repertoire inspired by the music of the Caribbean including rhythm work, dance and performance skills concluding in a performance.
Suitable for all age groups and abilities.
Curriculum links to numeracy, literacy, religious studies, music.
Length of booking: 6hrs (inc Performance) (must be 6 consecutive hrs*)
Number of participants (max.): 1 year group (approx 90 students)

This workshop takes you on a journey of music from Africa to the Caribbean. It looks at the fusion of African rhythms with biblical lyrics and rituals from both cultures.
What you can expect?
- Brief history of the origins of Caribbean Spirituals
- Learn rhythm through clapping games and dance moves
- Learn how to sing Caribbean Spirituals in unison and harmony
- Understand how lead voices work with choral arrangement

This workshop takes you on a journey of music from Africa to North America. It looks at the fusion of African rhythms with biblical lyrics and rituals from both cultures.

Contemporary British
Black Gospel
This workshop takes you on a journey of music from Caribbean to Britain over the past fifty years. It looks at the Windrush Generation and the music and culture they brought to the UK.
